SCIVAX Joins Open CPX MSA to Contribute to the Growth of the CPO Ecosystem

Promoting Standardization of Next-Generation Optical Interconnects for AI Data Centers and Contributing to the Advancement of CPO/NPO

SCIVAX Corporation (Head Office: Kawasaki, Kanagawa; President & CEO: Satoru Tanaka; hereinafter “SCIVAX”) is pleased to announce that it has joined Open CPX MSA (Open Co-Packaged Interface Multi-Source Agreement) (https://www.opencpxmsa.org/), an industry consortium promoting the standardization of next-generation optical interconnect technologies for AI data centers.

Open CPX MSA is an international industry consortium advancing the development of open and interoperable specifications for Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) and Near-Package Optics (NPO).

In recent years, with the rapid adoption of generative AI and large-scale AI clusters, networks connecting GPUs and AI accelerators have been required to achieve higher speeds, lower power consumption, and higher density. To address these challenges, expectations are rising for CPO and NPO technologies that place optical interconnects near ASICs. Through the standardization of mechanical, electrical, optical, and thermal specifications, as well as management interfaces, Open CPX MSA aims to ensure multi-vendor interoperability and expand the market.

Leveraging its strengths in optical component manufacturing technologies centered on nanoimprint technology, as well as silicon photonics-related solutions, SCIVAX has supported the practical implementation of next-generation optical communication devices. Through this membership, we will collaborate with industry partners in the fields of optical coupling and advanced packaging technologies, contributing to higher performance and lower power consumption in AI infrastructure.
